Privacy and retention

What we keep, why we use it and how long we keep it.

Your account

An account uses your name, email address and sign-in details (your password, and any passkeys or two-factor authentication you set up) to provide your dashboard.

We don't ask for firearm licence numbers, firearms owned, residential addresses, identity documents or attendance records.

In Profile and Security settings you can update your details, manage sign-in security and delete your account.

Followed ranges and saved guides

When you follow a range, we store which range you follow, when you followed it and whether you want its updates by email. When you save a guide, we store which guide and when you saved it. Both appear on your dashboard.

Both are private. Other people, clubs and range operators can't see who follows a range or who saved a guide, and we don't share your email address with them.

A follow isn't club membership, a booking, permission to shoot or a licence check. You can unfollow a range or remove a saved guide at any time from your dashboard.

Email updates

Account emails, such as verification and password resets, are separate from range updates.

Range updates appear on your dashboard. Email updates are off until you turn them on, and new follows start with email off. If you turn them on, we send at most one daily email with new published updates from the ranges you've included. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Unfollowing a range or turning email off stops future emails. We keep delivery records, such as whether an email was sent, for up to 90 days.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account removes your followed ranges, saved guides, email preferences and sign-in sessions immediately, and cancels any pending update emails. Remaining account details are removed within 30 days.

Where we need to keep publication history, we keep minimal editorial records without unnecessary personal details.

Corrections and sources

Source links and checked dates on each page show how a listing was put together. Source evidence from our research is stored separately; only what's needed for editorial review reaches the site.

A correction can include an optional contact email and a source link. Corrections go into private review and don't change a listing straight away. We may keep minimal audit and source records for up to two years after the published details they relate to are replaced.

Images and maps

We keep rejected uploads for up to 30 days and unused private images for up to 90 days, and remove unused public images straight away.

Showing a map sends a request to OpenFreeMap's tile service, which receives the usual connection details your browser sends. Every list works without the map. Where a range has no recorded position, we place it at the centre of its town and label it approximate.

Questions

If a listing is wrong, use the correction form on its page or suggest a directory correction. Please don't include private or sensitive personal details in correction text or source links. For anything else, see Contact.
